8 Must-Know Disney World Tips For First Timers!

1. Know how to get around Disney World property and how long it will take you,  for example to get to Disney's Magic Kingdom  you first have to park at the transportation & ticket centre and then you the have to get on the boat or the monorail to get the Magic Kingdom then security back check this can be a long process if you're arriving at peak times!

2. Know what to pack Orlando has some interesting weather, rain in the middle of June? You bet! It can be unpredictable from scorching hot to pouring down rain. I have a free packing list you can download to get you started. Check the my resources page. Here.

3. Where can I meet the mouse?! Know where about's you can meet Mickey, honestly there is so much going on that you might *forget* and after all it did all start with a mouse! Meeting Mickey Mouse quite often becomes the most memorable part of the holiday.

4. Download the app - If you've booked already definitely download the MDE (my Disney experience) app so you can have a look at the park map, dining options and wait times so you can see the rides that get the busiest and have the longest wait lines so you can plan how you can do them without waiting so long!

5. Don't over plan - Planning is an essential part of a WDW holiday, but it's not the be all and end all. Have a rough guide but be sure to factor in rest time! All the waking will tire you out!

6. Become a FastPass Pro - The FastPass system is there to benefit you and help you around the parks! Make sure you know how to use it before even stepping into the parks! You can pre-book your fastpasses 30 days ahead if you're staying off-site and 60 days ahead if you're staying on-site! What is your fast pass booking date?! Look NOW!

7. Spend time outside of parks - Shopping malls, Other parks, Different (cheaper) restaurants...There are so many other things to see and discover outside of Disney World! & when you come back you'll realise just how amazing it is!

8. Check prices before hand - The app allows you to see prices of food and beverages on Disney so have a look and create a guide for how much you and your family plan to spend each day. I say this because it is Disney and yes they have a premium on price. Below is a rough idea, but you get the idea.

Cup of Water - FREE if you ask!

Bottle Water - $3.50

Coke/Sprite/Fanta etc - $3.99

Burger & Fries- $12.99

Character Meal - $40 -$60pp

Enjoy!
